This exhibition aims to highlight the diverse range of visual art being produced in our region as well as providing a commercial outlet for VAPAA artists. Your involvement is most appreciated.
Please print and fill out the three documents attached and bring them with your artwork/s to the CVFWTC on Friday 1 September between 9am and 5pm. Please add an identification card (name and title of work) to the back of each piece.
In deciding on works to be exhibited, artists should consider the following important details:
1. The CVFWTC is not a gallery and therefore wall space is very limited. Artists are asked to restrict the size of their works to no larger than one metre square, either as a single piece or as two pieces. Every attempt will be made to display all pieces but as we have had such an overwhelming response it may be necessary in some cases to restrict display to one piece if space becomes limited.
2. The exhibition aims to present a small sample of local artistic practice, so please select a work that provides a snap shot of your work as an artist.
3. All works will be available for purchase on a ‘pay and go’ basis, so if a sale has been made, you may be contacted to provide a replacement work (CVFWTC commission is 22% inc. GST).
4. There are no restrictions on the sale price of your work/s but artists are encouraged to present pieces that are affordable and aim to encourage sales within the passing tourist market.
Although there will be no official opening of the exhibition, artists are encouraged to attend preview drinks on Friday 8 September at 4.30pm (prior to the regular Friday night food and wine tasting).
At the conclusion of the exhibition, you will be required to pick up unsold works on Monday 13 November between 9am and 5pm.
As this will be our first members’ exhibition in this format, we certainly appreciate the support and encouragement of our local artists. The exhibition is intended to become an annual feature of the CVFWTC calendar.
