Home / POH, PAELLA & PIAF in the Clare Valley

Five star Halliday rated Clare Valley winery Greg Cooley Wines has teamed up with Adelaide eatery Jamface, Celebrity Masterchef Poh & award winning Cabaret songstress Michaela Burger to present Poh, Paella & Piaf on Sunday evening 1st October.

The pop up event will be held under the stars at the iconic “Koonowla’ property east of Auburn when the historic grounds and buildings will be transformed to a veritable garden of culinary delights as Poh and the crew from Jamface (Poh’s café & patisserie located at the Adelaide’s Central Markets) dish up a rustic 3 course meal of tasty eats.

The menu includes Naples style pan fried pizza, Poh’s signature Paella and a spectacular selection of delictable desserts – the eclectic Adelaide eatery providing the perfect theatrical prelude to an intimate Cabaret performance of the award winning production ‘Exposing Edith’.

Performed by Michaela Burger on vocals and Greg Wain on Guitar, Exposing Edith is the cabaret tale of the legendary French singer Edith Piaf – her life, loves, her soul & songs. The show has won Best Cabaret at the 2016 Adelaide Fringe Festival, featured as part of the Edinburgh Festival line up and as recent as 2017 was nominated for a Helpmann Award.

The breathtaking show features classics such as La Vie en Rose, Padam and Non, Jene regrette rien alongside lesser known gems all uniquely reworked and the result is an exquisite mix of authentic, vintage French pop and contemporary sounds.

Poh, Paella and Piaf celebrates the creativity of arts and entertainment and food and wine, as part of the Clare Valley Winemakers month long ‘Clare with Fresh Air program which   highlights the wonderful combination of seafood matched with Clare Valley wines and in particular Riesling.
