The John Fries Award is a non-acquisitive award open to early-career artists of any age, working in any media, medium or style – from painting to performance, installation to photography.
The selected finalists’ work is exhibited in a curated exhibition at UNSW Galleries in Sydney. Now in its 8th year, the award offers an exciting opportunity for early career artists to further explore and develop their artistic practice, build industry networks and gain professional experience.
The winner will receive $10,000 in prize money. All finalists receive an artist’s fee of $1,000.
Entries close 5pm AEST on Monday 27 February 2017.
Entry to the award costs $35 AUD. (The entry fee supports the John Fries Award Finalists’ artists fees.)
